The initiative is designed to showcase support for the LGBTQ+ community in our local businesses\, fostering a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere throughout Wilton to celebrate Pride Month in June. \nSimilar to the practice of painting store windows in celebration of the holidays\, the Adopt-A-Shop program will allow community groups such as families\, faith groups\, sports teams\, theater groups\, Scouts\, and others to decorate the storefront of participating businesses with Pride-themed decorations and embellishments. \nThis partnership marks the continuation of tradition to a growing list of noteworthy collaborations that endorse Wilton Pride and its mission to support our LGBTQ+ community and allies. Children can also visit the Children’s Library to make a special bookmark\, and all visitors are encouraged to browse for gifts and stocking stuffers at the Holiday Book Sale in the gallery. \nAt 5:45 pm\, the Christmas season officially begins with our tree lighting ceremony\, followed by the highly anticipated arrival of Santa\, chauffeured by the Wilton Fire Department’s Ladder Truck 5. Children can visit Santa at the gazebo starting at 6:00 pm to share their holiday wishes and receive a special treat. \nThe enchanting voices of the carolers from the Voice Studio will entertain visitors after Santa’s arrival. For the first time ever\, bring a chair or blanket and settle in for a special outdoor screening of the holiday classic\, “Polar Express” at the Town Green\, beginning at 6:30 pm. \nWe encourage the community to stroll through town\, visit\, shop\, and enjoy the generous hospitality of participating local retailers\, restaurants\, and businesses.
