Proudly sponsored by Fairfield County Bank\, the Winter Carnival will be held on Sunday\, February 4th from 12:00-4:00pm at the Town Green with other exciting festivities simultaneously taking place around Wilton Center. \nStart off the event with a whimsical horse drawn wagon ride around the Town Center sponsored by Kimco Realty and  watch a live ice sculpting demonstration by the Gazebo and win prizes for our scavenger hunt by finding the beautiful ice sculptures throughout town! \nAdditional festivities will include a magic show\, character meet and great with your favorite “winter princess and snowman”\, and carnival performers engaging adults and young ones at the Town Green! \n \nA selection of food and beverage options will be available from our local food trucks – Bubble and Brew\, and Cousins Maine Lobster. Activities to keep the kids busy will include face painting\, sand art\, and crafts – all provided by our local organizations participating in the event. \nMake sure you stop by the corner of Schenck’s Island where the Rotary Club of Wilton will be providing a bonfire and  s’mores for roasting that afternoon. The Wilton Library will open its doors one hour early\, at noon. Visitors of all ages are invited to warm up inside where tweens and teens in grades 6 to 12 can stop by the Teen Department to learn how to make fun and easy decorative paper snowflakes\, while supplies last. Children in kindergarten to grade 5 can visit the Children’s Library to create a wintery craft project and pick up a winter bookmark. Then make sure to head over to Schenck’s Island for some marshmallow roasting sponsored by the Wilton Rotary Club (children must be accompanied by an adult). \nNew this year\, we have partnered with Wilton Go Green to work together to make our Winter Carnival a little more green! The local organization will be sponsoring a sorting station  to collect and divert food scraps to a composting facility as well as collect recyclables.  So after you enjoy treats and food from our vendors be sure to come by the sorting station! \nNumerous festivities will be held throughout the Center and we highly encourage our guests to visit and shop at our local retail stores during the afternoon and enjoy a bite or beverage at one of our fantastic restaurants as they stroll to each activity. Start off the event with a whimsical horse drawn wagon ride around Wilton Center\, watch a live ice sculpting demonstration and join in the scavenger hunt of beautiful ice sculptures and a chance to win a gift basket filled with local Wilton merchandise valued at $200! \n \nMake your way down Old Ridgefield Road for a campfire with marshmallows by the Wilton Rotary Club\, join in the character meet and greet for photo ops\, enjoy the kids’ activities\, crafts\, sand art\, face painting\, professional magic show at the Gazebo\, plus food trucks and Wilton’s very own Bubble and Brew. \nStroll through town and enjoy a variety of dining options from our award-winning restaurants\, shop at the great local stores in town\, and make sure to visit the Wilton library as their staff welcomes visitors during the Carnival. They will be handing out complimentary grab-and-go winter craft kits – two different versions\, for teens and children – one per person\, while supplies last. Tweens and teens in grades 6 to 12 can stop by the teen services department to pick up a snowflake origami kit. SUMMARY:Wilton Winter Fest
DESCRIPTION:In past years\, the Chamber of Commerce has hosted the Winter Carnival in January but much like other events in 2020\, it was cancelled due to COVID. The event which was held the Sunday before the Superbowl featured winter themed carnival games\, animal rides for the kids\, magicians\, Disney character meet and greets\, food trucks\, beverage tastings\, vendor booths\, and an ice carving demo at the gazebo. It is a fun day for the whole family and a great way for residents to explore and experience Wilton Center. \nIn the absence of the carnival this year\, the Wilton Chamber of Commerce will be presenting a promotional event that will spotlight our local businesses.  Local establishments will be decorating their store fronts with a “Winter Fest” or “Wilton Warriors” theme of blue and white from Feb. 1st-13th. During this time\, whenever a shopper purchases a gift card from participating retailers or restaurants\, the Chamber of Commerce is offering a Chamber of Commerce gift certificate worth 20% of the value of the gift certificate purchased! \nHere are the guidelines: \n\nGift certificate from participating business must be purchased between Feb. 1-13\, 2021.\nProof of purchase with date must be submitted via email to info@wiltonchamber.com\nWilton Chamber of Commerce bonus gift certificate will be mailed to purchaser.\nBonus gift certificate will be valid between Feb. 14th – March 31st\, 2021.\n\nWe hope this bonus gift certificate incentive will create more revenue for our local businesses and encourage shopping and dining during the winter months. Please support the event and our businesses early as the total program match will be capped at $2000. \nProgram match update: Friday February 12\, 2021 – $1\,233 bonus gift certificates have been redeemed. \nOn Saturday Feb.13th\, ice sculptures will be dotted around the Gazebo and between 12:00-2:00 pm a socially distant meet and greet with our favorite snowman\, Olaf as we have done in the past to close out the Winterfest theme. Also on that day\, retailers will be participating in a town-wide store front sidewalk sale for the best steals and deals of the season!
