SUMMARY:Fitness Lab Promotes Health and Art
DESCRIPTION:Connecticut Fitness Lab\, LLC (CTFL)\, a medical-based fitness facility located in Stop &Shop Plaza\, Wilton Center\, will sponsor CTFL client and Wilton artist Shivani de Bree\,\nduring an exhibition of her oil-on-canvass works.\nCTFL Owner and Licensed Exercise Physiologist Paul Landi explained the motivationbehind this seemingly odd pairing of exercise and art. “We encourage our clients andthe entire community to explore many different ways to stay active and have fun—be it\na bike ride\, creative gym-based workout\, walk in the park\, or an outing to a local\nmuseum. The idea is to encourage community and promote self-care via fitness and the arts “ said Landi. “What better way to do this than to spotlight an artist whose own art and fitness journey has resulted in healing to now uplift others?\nThe two-day event will begin Saturday\, January 27th with an 8am specially designed workout (general public welcome) for people of all ages and abilities. All participation fees ($20.00 per person) will be donated to the Team Brent Wheels PMC Fund\,\nbenefitting life-saving cancer treatment and research at Dana Farber Cancer Institute.\nLater that day (12:oopm – 5:00pm) and again on Sunday 1/28 (same time) CTFL will\ntransform to exhibit Shivani’s colorfully energetic and inspiring collection.\nAttendees can also participate in a raffle prize drawing to win one of Shivani’s paintings\nvalued at over $650.00. Again\, 100% of raffle proceeds will benefit Team Brent Wheels\nPMC Fund.\nMore information on artist Shivani: (IG) shivanioriginalart\nMore information on the PMC & Dana Farber Cancer Institute: www.pmc.org

DESCRIPTION:Is the Camino de Santiago on your bucket list? Ever wonder what it’s like to walk 500 miles across Spain? Wonder no longer! \nJoin us as we host Lisa Corrado\, local business owner and Camino pilgrim. Lisa recently returned from spending two months walking the Camino de Santiago in Spain. She’ll share her experience with us – the highs\, the lows and the unexpected. \nThe Camino de Santiago is a pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. For hundreds of years\, people have walked it for religious\, spiritual\, physical and other personal reasons. Along the way\, she learned so much\, ate delicious food\, met amazing people and challenged herself. \nLisa will share photos from her journey and answer questions. \nCome be inspired by Lisa’s amazing experience and get excited for your next adventure! \nThere will be Spanish-inspired nibbles & sips too. \nWednesday\, November 1st at 7:00PM\nCT Fitness Lab\n5 River Road\, Suite 6\, Wilton\, CT 06897\n(Stop n Shop Plaza – between Parlor Pizza and Ancona’s Wine)

SUMMARY:Circle of Care Holiday Toy Drive
DESCRIPTION:Give the gift of a smile this holiday season! Last year\, our drive provided gift packages for over 125 children facing a cancer diagnosis. There are many ways to get involved with our holiday gift drive. Become one of Binky’s Porch Elves and help deliver joy to children with cancer in Connecticut. \nCircle of Care’s holiday gift drive will provide custom gift packages to children with cancer who have been helped by our Financial Assistance program this year with the items collected and delivered by generous “elves” like you! If you or your organization would like to host a physical collection drive for gift items\, please email emma.flanagan@thecircleofcare.org to be provided with a list of suggested items to kickstart your drive. \nOur gift drive relies on donations of items\, monetary donations\, and delivery volunteers to ensure we can brighten the holiday season for as many families as possible. \nAll gifts\, though\, will need to be received by Circle of Care by Friday\, December 1st so our volunteer elves have time to sort\, wrap\, and deliver them to each child’s front door!
