DESCRIPTION:Connecticut Fitness Lab\, LLC (CTFL)\, a medical-based fitness facility located in Stop &Shop Plaza\, Wilton Center\, will sponsor CTFL client and Wilton artist Shivani de Bree\,\nduring an exhibition of her oil-on-canvass works.\nCTFL Owner and Licensed Exercise Physiologist Paul Landi explained the motivationbehind this seemingly odd pairing of exercise and art. “We encourage our clients andthe entire community to explore many different ways to stay active and have fun—be it\na bike ride\, creative gym-based workout\, walk in the park\, or an outing to a local\nmuseum. The idea is to encourage community and promote self-care via fitness and the arts “ said Landi. “What better way to do this than to spotlight an artist whose own art and fitness journey has resulted in healing to now uplift others?\nThe two-day event will begin Saturday\, January 27th with an 8am specially designed workout (general public welcome) for people of all ages and abilities. All participation fees ($20.00 per person) will be donated to the Team Brent Wheels PMC Fund\,\nbenefitting life-saving cancer treatment and research at Dana Farber Cancer Institute.\nLater that day (12:oopm – 5:00pm) and again on Sunday 1/28 (same time) CTFL will\ntransform to exhibit Shivani’s colorfully energetic and inspiring collection.\nAttendees can also participate in a raffle prize drawing to win one of Shivani’s paintings\nvalued at over $650.00. Whether a model train builder or collector\, young wannabe train conductors\, or a family looking for a delightful seasonal experience\, the Great Trains Holiday Show has something for everyone. \nThe Great Holiday Train Show will run November 24th\, 2023 through January 15th\, 2024. Wilton Historical Hours during this event are Wednesdays–Saturdays\, 10:00 – 4:00; and Sundays\, 12:00 – 4:00. She’ll share her experience with us – the highs\, the lows and the unexpected. \nThe Camino de Santiago is a pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. For hundreds of years\, people have walked it for religious\, spiritual\, physical and other personal reasons. Pilgrims\, as the walkers are called\, make their way from one of many starting points\, ending at the Cathedral in Santiago. Lisa’s journey was a deeply personal one\, as well as a physical challenge. Her walk took her through big cities\, tiny villages\, wide open fields and deep forests. Visit the farm any time from dawn to dusk between November 1st and 5th to drop off your jack-o-lanterns\, pumpkins or gourds to be composted right here at the farm. Please note\, no paint\, glitter\, googly eyes or candles are compostable as they can contaminate the compost when processed. No other food scraps or other organic materials can be dropped off. \nPull into the main entrance at 257 Hurlbutt St. and head to the top of the driveway by the Red Barn. Look for signage for the Pumpkin Drop and you can drop your goods in the bins provided.

DESCRIPTION:The Rotary Club of Wilton together with the Knights of Columbus Bishop Fenwick Assembly 100 will host its family carnival from Sept. 22-24\, 2023! The carnival will be held at the corner of School Road and Route 7. Carnival hours are: Friday\, Sept. 22\, 6-10 p.m.\, Saturday Sept. 23\, 12- 10 p.m.\, and Sunday Sept. 24\, 12–5 p.m. \nThe Carnival is a great family event and a wonderful way to kick of the autumn season and new school year for the youngsters! The event will offer over a dozen different rides for all ages as well as multiple games and other activities for the whole family. Additionally\, there will be a variety of food trucks and food vendors throughout the weekend event. \nAdmission and parking is free. Wristbands for unlimited rides will be sold for $30 per wristband for each time slot. Individual ride tickets are also available. Volunteers from the Wilton Rotary Club and Knight of Columbus will be overseeing the ticket booth and assisting with wristbands. \nAll proceeds from the carnival will go back into the community to support projects in Wilton as well as global humanitarian programs led by Rotary International. Rotary Club of Wilton is a service club of volunteers with a goal of providing support and funding for local community improvement projects\, non-profit agencies\, youth leadership initiatives\, international humanitarian programs\, and polio eradication worldwide.

DESCRIPTION:Returning for its 3rd act\, Rock at The Y is an annual outdoor benefit concert which helps support many areas of the Riverbrook Regional YMCA’s Mission\, including: camperships\, free swim lessons\, and general Financial Aid/Scholarships for those in Our Communities who need assistance to afford a Y Membership. \nOn 9/9/2023 the sounds of Streetfighter\, a Rolling Stones Tribute Show will fill the Y and surrounding area. Not before Echoes of Sinatra opens the show at 5:30pm. We hope you can attend and support towns of Wilton\, Redding\, and Norwalk\, plus other surrounding communities through this effort. \nFood trucks will be on site and complimentary beverages will be provided.
